Prepaid electricity tokens can be bought in a variety of ways to ensure tenants can recharge 24 hours a day at many convenient locations countrywide. We also have online partners and tokens may be purchased through a variety online systems, including banks, as well as our own portal below.
Please note Eligugu Prepaid only dispenses electricity tokens for meters managed by us. We do not dispense tokens for other sub metering service providers, Municipal or Eskom meters. The following options exist for purchasing tokens.
You can purchase electricity via the Eligugu App available on App Store and
Google Store
What you do is after downloading the App from Playstore you follow prompts to register
the meter and link it to your bank account.

Ensure you are registered for your bank’s cellphone banking service.
Use the following USSD codes to initiate the purchase and the follow the
prompts

Capitec: *120*3279#
Nedbank: *120*001#
Standard Bank: *120*2345#
FNB:*120* 321#
Once the transaction is complete you will receive an SMS with your token
number
Go to any of the above displayed retail outlets with your meter number that you are to present to the cashier at the till or counter, You will pay for electricity and receive a slip with your 20 digit token number. Punch the number into your prepaid electricity meter.
Navigate through the banking apps to the ‘Buy’ button and then the ‘electricity’ button. Follow the prompts and you will receive your 20 digital token via the app or SMS
